Do you think Raines will make a whole season or get the boot?
I hope it stays.

I think it will find an audience. Since its on Thursday night on NBC, it should have a good showing.

Actually, since nothing good really comes on, on Fridays, this show might make Friday Night good! (Except Las Vegas, but its on a leave of absence)

I hope it can last! Whether or not it actually will, I honestly don't know. A lot of really excellent shows seem to get axe sometimes.

Hey, I saw online this morning that it got the best ratings last week of the new NBC shows. Hopefully, the move to Friday will make it even stronger. I beleive its replacing Las Vegas a few weeks. Maybe that show's fans will stay tuned.

Prime Time Ratings: Friday 3/30/07
The following results are based on the fast national ratings (Live Plus Same Day data):
-Total Viewers:
In time period premiere news, NBC mystery drama Raines kicked-off at 9 p.m. with a second-place finish in total viewers (7.08 million) and adults 18-49 (1.9/ 7). While that did build from lackluster lead-in Identity (Viewers: #3, 5.85 million; A18-49: #3: 1.6/ 6 at 8 p.m.) by 1.23 million viewers and 19 percent among adults 18-49, it trailed CBS’ aforementioned Close To Home by a hefty 2.71 million viewers and 21 percent in the demo.
Not too bad for a Friday. If we keep a steady build toward 9 million, we might be okay. A better lead in will help too.

I don't think Raines was given a fair shot! NBC only ordered 7 episodes? C'mon.

Well, that doesn't mean anything. They were just not sure about. It wouldn't be the first time that a show has a short first season and then becomes a regular amount of episodes in Season 2. Now we just have to hope for a second season.

So, the answer is "Raines" had a 12 episode order (pilot+ 12) when we started in July. We were told in December that the order had been cut down to 6 episodes. If we shot anything over 6 episodes and they would have to pay contractual pay increases. On a side note: NBC decided to shoot all 12 episodes of The Black Donnelly's. Since that show is now being cancelled, I'd say they made the wrong decision. Not that I'm bitter

Since that show is now being cancelled, I'd say they made the wrong decision. Not that I'm bitter That makes sort of good news for the show, since our other 5 episodes haven't been shot yet, that makes it seem that NBC doesn't want it off yet, because following the example of The Black Donnelys would mean they want all 12 episodes shot and ready to air. We'll find out soon enough, hopefully for the better.
